🎪 Safe Festivals

Telluride's festivals bring thousands of visitors to our mountain community each year. Safe Festivals extends our Safe Bars training into the festival environment — giving vendors, staff, and security teams the tools they need to keep everyone safe.

SMRC will be on the ground at participating festivals, staffing a resource tent in partnership with San Miguel Public Health and serving as an advocacy bridge for anyone needing support.

1

Pre-Festival Video Training

Managers and vendors complete the Safe Bar Network's "see something, do something" video with a quiz — available online before the event.

2

Morning-of In-Person Briefing

A focused 30-minute training the morning of each festival (9am). All staff, security, and vendors aligned before gates open.

3

On-Site SMRC Resource Tent

SMRC and San Miguel Public Health staff a visible, welcoming support tent throughout the festival — positioned away from law enforcement for those who need a safe space.

4

Festival Charter & Positive Signage

Zero-tolerance policies in writing for organizers. Positive messaging throughout grounds: "Here's how to have a great time!"
